We use software modelling such as PowerCAD, SKM and Cable Pro (Visit Elek website https://elek.com/electrical-software/elek-cable-pro-web/ ) combined with diligent research of network and utility devices in order to accurately predict fault conditions on networks. This gives accurate predictions for the purpose of arc flash study, and software modelling allows us to trial all tolerances to see the impact of protective devices and arc flash PPE categories.
Any upgrade to any part of a network necessitates the re-evaluation of the complete network in terms of fault current analysis, if this is neglected it can lead to potentially fatal situations where fault currents cannot be cleared, so re-evaluation of fault currents, and consequently arc flash study is a standard service that we offer for new or modified installations
